Christmas is Coming to MMCS

.. can you even believe the title of this post? I SURE CAN'T!!

Regardless, I am MORE than happy to recieve a push in the direction of making my Christmas cards. It's gotta be started sooner or later, right? I hate the stress of rushing towards the end of November, and being totally overwhelmed with the number you have to make!!

Onwards I say, let's have Christmas in August!!

I used some SU! Crumb Cake cardstock and scored a cardbase before taking some delicious papers from the new First Edition Silent Night paper stack. I die cut a bunch of My Favorite Things Winter Wreath from green and pale grey cardstock to layer up. I then die cut some buttons, a bow and some postage stamp edges (all from MFT) from Cherry Cobbler cardstock for embellishing.

I then added some blue and pale yellow buttons with twine and added some faux stitching.

It looks quick and easy.. and it is. If you don't hand stitch all of the buttons on. What a FAFF!! I cannot help myself though. I hate the look of an 'empty' button, I think they look totally unfinished. So.. on I will trudge hand stitching/threading buttons! :)

Thanks for stopping by today!
I hope I have encouraged you to get cracking with your Christmas cards. xo

A recipe to follow..

It's time for a new challenge over at Passion for ProMarkers, and the theme has been set by our lovely Coops..

Recipe: 3 Papers, 3 Embellishments, 1 Paper and 1 Sentiment

Easy peasy, right? Just grab your fave papers, and embellishments and colour up the cutest image you've got and share your creation with us.

Here's what I came up with using the very cute (.. and only bee I can really tolerate) What's the Buzz from Pollycraft. I've coloured her up to match papers from My Minds Eye Noteable collection.. of which I used three! ;)

I thought I'd practice my little clouds again, not too bad. Still looking pretty flat and un poofy (I think clouds should be poofy!!).. but I'm getting there. Slowly! :) Practice makes perfect!

I used my (miraculously fixed) little Slice machine to create some honeycomb pieces of different sizes from patterned paper and some white cardstock for my sentiment.

My sentiment. LOVE! My first attempt at a whimsy kinda sentiment. I used a mixture of Jellybean alpha stickers and some Lawn Fawn alpha stamps. Too cute!

I've added some twill stripe ribbon from The Ribbon Girl, some sprinklings of Stickles and a few punched hearts, again from the same patterned paper! Super happy card. I love it.

The prize up for grabs is SEVEN digi images from Bugaboo, so head over to the blog and join in.

Thank you for stopping by. xo

My Mum's Craft Shop Inspiration

A little bit late with this card! Better late than never, right?

I had a BLAST last week when me and my boyfriend were away in Scotland. It's taking a lot more energy than I thought, to get back into the swing of things. I need to give my head a serious shake!

So it's a free week over at My Mum's Craft Shop this week. I decided to create some Some Odd Girl goodness. I have missed these stamps a LOT!

I used the clear stamp sets:
Hey Kaylee
Foxy

Have no hesitation in contacting Kitty if you would like her to order any specific stamp sets in. She is very accommodating if you'd like something which isn't listed in the shop!

I have also used a bunch of papers from My Minds Eye Collectable Noteable. Gorgeous, bright and summery colours.

I'm gonna try and wrap this up here and let you have a gander at the card! :)

As well as Some Odd Girl stamps, I used a sentiment stamp from My Favorite Things - Birthday Greetings to add a large greeting. I needed something large so it wouldn't get lost in all of the wildlife along the grass verge! ;)

Be sure to stop by the MMCS Blog and see what other gorgeous creations the girls have been posting this week. You don't wanna miss them.

There are lots of new arrivals in the shop too. Including NEW STAMPING BELLA UPTOWN GIRLS and MARTHA STEWART SILICONE MOULDS

Kraft It at My Mum's Craft Shop

How do! :) I really hope these posts are actually posting while I'm away on my jollies. I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't keep checking my phone. I want a break from everything.

So this week at My Mum's Craft Shop the theme is KRAFT IT!

Kitty wants to see us use some Kraft on our creations.

I took huge HUGE inspiration from Jennifer McGuire for my card. She is amaze-balls. Obviously mine is no where near as perfect as hers, but I did give it a good go.

I used My Favorite Things Sweet Roses and matching dies to create the flowers and some masks. I first stamped them in white chalk ink then used a mixture of different coloured dye inks, for a bright, summery card. The sentiment in the centre of the oval negative is from the same Sweet Roses set.

I didn't used any patterned paper on this card, as I thought the Kraft and the brightly coloured flowers spoke volume themselves. For some final embellishment I added some pearls, liquid pearls and some stickles.

That's all from me this week. I hope you're having as much fun as I am Tayside!! Loves.

Switching it up..

with a SKETCH challenge today over at Passion for ProMarkers. Yip. Our lovely Lou has come up with a brilliant sketch for us all to work with. Here's a little peek.

Lous sketch challenge 211

Remember you don't have to use the sketch exactly how it is. You can change the shapes of the squares and circles, you can flip or rotate it and you can go all out with the embellishments, it's totally up to you. As long as we can see the basic sketch in your design.

I decided to flip my design, just to show you how easy it is to do. :)

I used the gorgeous JellyBug from Saturated Canary, who is also our sponsor this month *wink, wink*. I've coloured her using ProMarkers and FlexMarkers to match my papers from My Minds Eye Memorable 6x6 pad. I took huge inspiration from the amazing Alyce Keegan, I spotted her JellyBug somewhere in blogland and was like.. DAYYYMMM!! I gotta colour mine up similar.

I've used some of the little journal spots from the paper pack to create my own sentiment with some Studio G alpha stamps stamped in Old Olive ink from SU! Some Marianne dies and a whole row of delicious Stickles wraps this card up.

If you enter this challenge you will be in with a chance of winning TWO DIGIS from Saturated Canary!! Get your sketch on. I wish I could enter! LOL.

My Mum's Craft Shop Inspiration

Good morning! :) A bit of a rainy start to the week but me no carey. Three more shifts after today and then I'm off for two whole weeks. TWO WEEKS!! Seriously cannot wait. :)

So, this week the DT girls could create aaaanything we wished. I went with a wedding card, using a stamp set you may not initially think of when thinking of a wedding!!

This card has been prettied up using the Pretty Poppies set from My Favorite Things, and they've been stamped up using dye ink and chalk ink. A very clean and simple card. My customer wanted light, white and bright. She's heading off to a summer wedding in Turkey at the end of the month, so I thought the pinks and oranges would be perfect. If you weren't a big flower person, you probably wouldn't even know these were poppies! :)

As for embellishment I added some Baby Blue Stickles and Liquid Pearls. Done.

Thank you for stopping by. xo

Wishing you Happiness

It's AUGUST already. Can you even believe it?! The eight month of 2013. Sheesh! It always amazes me how days can seem to draaaag for eternity, then you look back and BAM.. months have flown past. Time is mysterious thing!

Onwards. The start of a new month can only mean the start of a new challenge over at My Mum's Craft Shop!! Yippeee!! Keeping in trend with the recent weather (well not the past few rainy and thunder-y days.. of which I am not complaining..) we've gone for a summer theme.

SUMMER

I've used a bunch of goodness from the My Mum's Craft Shop.

If there is ever anything you spot me using and you'd like Kitty to order it, just give her a shout and she'll be happy to do that for ya! If it's not in the shop, just holla. :)

I coloured Mae up to match the bold colours in the papers. I wanted it to be mainly orange, pink and yellow. I think it worked out quite well. I cut apart a sheet of paper from the 6x6 pack for the 'be happy' burst sentiment to layer underneath my stamped sentiment and to bring the orange over to that side of that card! I added a few Hobby House pearls here and there to finish the card off with minimal embellishment. :)

I've tried to make a little combo of images, but I didn't really take too many pictures before I posed it out earlier in the week! My bad! :) You get the idea though, bright, happy, fun colours and images which remind you of sunny days and warm (.. or scorching) weather.

I sure hope you can join us over at the My Mum's Craft Shop BLOG to be in with a chance of winning a prize!!
